Deadpool Gets Online Petition Seeking Kid-Friendly PG-13 Cut
The hugely anticipated and now r-rated superhero film Deadpool is racing towards its opening, and as a superhero film to begin with its heavy rating has met some resistance.
A young boy, eight years old, Matthew is an avid Deadpool fan, though his mother is hesitant toward taking him to see the film (justly so). Matthew even wrote his mother a note, making a handful of promises such as that he will cover his eyes when told during the film.
Host of Youtube channel Beyond The Trailer, Grace Randolph heard about the boy's story and has taken to creating a petition for Change.org, hoping for it being sent to her "contacts at Fox PR department" if the signature count gets high enough.
The petition requests a PG-13 cut for children who want to see the comic book character come to life on the big screen. The petition currently has just over 1000 signatures, though whether the film could even be moderated to fit a kid-friendly release is certainly debatable.
