Deadpool Rakes In $492 Million at Worldwide Box Office
Deadpool has dominated at the worldwide box office for a second weekend, taking in $55 million domestically in Nort America for a domestic total of $235.4 million, already passing X-Men: Days of Future Past, which notched up $233.9 domestic in 10 days.
Across the sea, Deadpool took in $85 million for an international total of $256.5 million to add up to a worldwide total of $491.9 million. It is on track to become the top R-rated film ever released at the box office, a record held by 2003's The Matrix Reloaded ($742.1 million).
For the sake of context, the film, starring Ryan Reynolds and directed by Tim Miller, was made on a budget of just $58 million. Talk about turning a profit.
Kung Fu Panda 3 clung onto second place with $12.5 million domestic, while biblical drama came in at third with $11.8 million.
