'Death Wish' Remake with Bruce Willis Lines Up Eli Roth to Direct
Hostel and Knock Knock director Eli Roth has taken the front seat for a remake of Death Wish, with Bruce Willis remaining attached to the project as headline hero Paul Kersey.
Roth comes following a host of directors who have dropped in and out of the project over several years, as the remake certainly seems daunting for filmmakers. Charles Bronson starred in the 1974 film as a New York man who turns vigilante following the murder of his wife.
Four sequels came over the following two decades. and while many hands have touch the script, a current draft has been penned by Scott Alexander and Larry Kraszewski (The People v OJ Simpson). It is said to be heavily accurate to the original 1972 novel by Brian Garfield.
