Denzel Washington's 'Fences' Gets an End of Year Release Date
Paramount has dated Denzel Washington's latest picture for an award-season release of December 16 in New York and Los Angeles, before going wide on December 25.
Washington stars in and directs the adaptation of August Wilson's Fences, while Suicide Squad's Viola Davis is also headlining the film. Both actors won Tony awards for their roles in the 2010 Broadway revival of the tale back in 2010.
Fences follows a one-time promising baseball player who now works as a Pittsburgh garbage collector with strained relationships with his wife, son and friends. Washington follows up with Fences after two other directing efforts with The Great Debaters and Antwone Fisher.
