Details Surface for Forest Whitaker's Role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Courtesy of Making Star Wars, who have a solid track record on the news front, have revealed information regarding the character played by Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker.
Like everyone in the film so far, this is another character who is pretty obscure at this point. What we can say about him now though is that his character uses a cane, appearing to have just the one leg and uses the cane to walk.
He seems to be a war veteran of sorts, though whether he lost his leg fighting in the clone wars or against the empire is unknown as yet. He appears to be a 'good guy', though he could be a bounty hunter affiliated member of the cast.
Making Star Wars also has news regarding the main antagonist, who they describe as follows:
There is a bad guy or person of some importance to the Empire. His main feature is a huge majestic white cape with a slit in the back. In the film there is a beautiful shot of this Imperial treading through a shallow body of water with said cape trailing him. The figure that wears it appears to be an older male. I’m told he has a badass sidearm and a really cool name. We’re fairly certain this is Ben Mendelsohn’s character but that’s not 100% or verified at this time.
The scarcity of news coming out of the film is certainly adding to our anticipation for the spin-off, and hopefully the franchise can continue its upward spiral.
