Dexter Alum Scott Buck Signs on as Showrunner for Marvel's Iron Fist
Netflix's upcoming Marvel project, Iron Fist, has found its showrunner, with the former Dexter boss set to bring his own vision to the series.
Iron Fist is the fourth series in Marvel and Netflix's TV deal. That deal has already seen Daredevil and Jessica Jones, and will welcome Luke Cage to its stocks in 2016. This all leads to a The Defenders miniseries, bringing all four characters together.
Jeph Loeb, Marvel's head of TV, spoke of how Buck came in with a vision they couldn't reject. "Scott came in with a take on Iron Fist that quite simply knocked us off our feet. We always look for the most creative minds in the field to help us bring our heroes to life, and with Scott we've found someone that can deliver yet another great series in the ongoing story of The Defenders".
Buck himself said "I've always been drawn to writing complex, intriguing characters, and that's what most excites me about the opportunity to bring Danny Rand and Iron Fist to life with Marvel on Netflix".
