Disney CEO Says Indiana Jones Will Continue On After 'Indiana Jones 5'
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter Disney CEO Bob Iger said Indiana Jones 5 will not be the last of the franchise and it may be rebooted.
Iger said they (Disney) have plans to make more than one movie. It won't be as large as the upcoming movie expansion into the Star Wars Universe, Iger confirmed. Harrison Ford is set to return as Indiana Jones, but Bob Iger is planning for the day Ford won't be able to do it. Iger also confirmed there has been discussions at Disney and Lucasfilm on "How to move the story forward." During the interview, Disney CEO Bob Iger didn't give the specifics on the future of the franchise.
Disney CEO Bob Iger will be stepping down in 2018. Leaving a new CEO to decide the fate of the Indiana Jones franchise. Iger believes Lucasfilm will have a long life at the Walt Disney Company. It will be interesting to see what happens in the events of the next film. Obviously they are setting up some kind of replacement for Harrison Ford. It was reported in the past Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World) was considered for the role of Indiana Jones in a rebooted franchise. Maybe these plans come to fruition?
