Disney is Working on a 'Jungle Book' Sequel, with Jon Favreau Likely to Return
Disney's The Jungle Book hits wide release on Friday and already has a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, quickly being hailed as a standout success.
Disney has now announced a sequel is being negotiated with the intent of reuniting the team lead by director-producer Jon Favreau and including screenwriter Justin Marks. The film itself is the classice tale of Mowgli, the man-cub raised by wolves but forced from the jungle due to threats made by the frightening tiger Shere Khan.
Neel Sethi plays the human boy while a host of stars add their voices to the CGI-heavy feature, including Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong'o, Christopher Walken and the late Garry Shandling.
