Disney's Live-Action Remake of 'Mulan' Sets 2018 Release Date
Disney is working on a live-action remake of its animated film of the same name, as is the company's habit presently, and it's now set to roll out into theaters November 2, 2018.
The film joins a number of films including The Jungle Book, Cinderella, and Maleficent, and still to come is Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and more.
Mulan adds a little bit of difficulty in that it is based on a real, iconic figure from Chinese ancient history. Working this into a western blockbuster film has all kinds of eyebrows raised particularly now when "whitewashed" is a popular buzz word.
Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek are working on the screenplay. Chris Bender and J.C. Pink are producing.
