Gordon Gray (Million Dollar Arm, Secratariat) and Billy Ray will produce the film. Billy Ray (Hunger Games, Captain Phillips) will also write the script for the film.
The Hollywood Reporter is saying Disney wants the reenvision Don Quixote with a tone similar to Pirates of the Caribbean. Don Quixote has been on TV and film numerous times over the years.
The synopsis of Don Quixote, the novel originally titled The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha.
"Don follows Alonso Quixana, an older man in the Spanish countryside obsessed with tales of chivalry who loses his grasp on reality, refashions himself in the image of a valiant knight by the name of Don Quixote, and sets off “tilting at windmills” in search of justice."
