'Don't Breathe' Takes Top Spot for the Second Week Running at the Box Office
For the second weekend in a row, Don't Breathe has claimed top spot at the box office. Variety is reporting that the film looks to pull in $15 million over this weekend, taking it to a total of $51 million.
The horror film seemed to have come from nowhere to become a big hit in a year that's proven that the horror genre has enough legs to pull of a resurgence. Don't Breathe could have more legs in it as an end of summer runner, though it has the new Tom Hanks picture Sully to contend with next week.
Suicide Squad looks to pull in $13 million over the four-day holiday, pushing it past $300 million domestically. Unfortunately, The Light Between Oceans, starring Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander, is looking at just $6 million on opening weekend off its $20 million budget.
