Dwayne Johnson Announces He Will Play "Doc Savage"
Dwayne Johnson confirmed he will play Doc Savage via his instagram account. In his instagram post Johnson wrote:
"It's OFFICIAL: For all comic book fans you already know the world's first superhero (pre-dating Superman) is the "Man of Bronze" himself Clark 'Doc' Savage. Want to thank my bud director/writer Shane Black and his writing team Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry for flying in from LA and sitting with me and our@sevenbucksprod's producer@hhgarcia41 (Hiram Garcia) on this Memorial Day weekend to chop up creative and break story on this very cool project." Johnson's full post can be found on his instagram page -@therock.
Clark "Doc" Savage is described as "a jack of all trades adventurer raised from birth to be a pinnacle of human strength and intelligence" and "although Savage had no actual superpowers, he was a master at martial arts, a trained scientist and a master detective and was regularly referred to as a 'superman' by both friends and enemies."
Shane Black will direct and intends to begin filming the movie in early 2017. No release date is currently scheduled.
