Emilia Clarke says No More Terminator Appearances
Emilia Clarke, who broke out via HBO's Game of Thrones, played a headline role in last year's Terminator: Genisys, which failed to be the hit with critics or audiences that studios wanted. It still managed to pull in more than $440 million worldwide despite that.
While the franchise has been confirmed to be in a "readjustment" period, Clarke has offered the first Terminator-related information in some time. Her simple answer to whether she'll be returning to the franchise is "no."
“Can I say that? It’s okay. No. Uh-uh. But I have some very different roles coming up.”
Those roles include one particular lead in Warner Bros. Me Before You, which the actress describes as a dream project.
“I read the book and it was just the most beautiful thing I had ever read,” she said. “I was shooting ‘Terminator’ at the time and had a rocket launcher in my hand while crying like a little girl. I felt like the author, Jojo Moyes, had found a part of me and just wrote it down. I knew that I just had to play the role.”
That particular film arrives June 3, and stars Clarke as a woman who begins caring for a wealthy young man (Sam Claflin) who has recently become paralyzed.
