The king of the westerns, Ennio Morricone is a colossus when it comes to film scores. Writing some of the most known and loved pieces of music in cinema history. Still working today at the ripe old age of 85, Morricone has never received a Oscar for his outstanding achievements, until the Academy realized how dumb they had been and awarded him an honorary Oscar in 2007. His work has influenced many composers as well as filmmakers. Quentin Tarantino loves the guy. His films Kill Bill and Inglorious Basterds are littered with Morricone’s jingles.
