Eva Mendes to Possibly Star in "Fast & Furious" Spinoff
Universal expanding the Fast & Furious cinematic universe.
Eva Mendes, who played U.S. Customs agent Monica Fuentes in 2 Fast 2 Furious, is rumored to be in contention to receive a spinoff film as star and producer Vin Diesel and Universal Pictures look to expand the Fast & Furious cinematic universe.
While nothing has been confirmed, it is rumored that if audiences respond well to Mendes's return in Fast 8, she would topline a spinoff. If you remember the after credit scene from Fast Five, Mendes made an appearance as Monica Fuentes. If this rumor proves to be true, fans may finally receive a payoff from that scene as it confirmed Fuentes continued existence in the Fast & Furious universe.
Fast 8 races into theaters on April 14, 2017.
