Fear the Walking Dead Heads Drop Hints Regarding the Sea-Bound Second Season
From what we've seen for the second season of Fear the Walking Dead so far, it's clear that it wants to venture into uncharted territory, in an effort to distinguish itself apart from its parent show.
Teased at the close of season 1, the second season will take things out to see, and as the creator of the series Dave Erickson teased, "Zombies don't drown; they keep floating back up." The showrunner also described season 2 as having a focus on "threats and obstacles on sea and on land.
"We try to find a place where they can drop anchor and stay... [But] we don't know when we first hit the water which direction we'll go. Strand has some ideas but we don't know how much we can trust those ideas."
Alycia Debnam-Carter explained that there would be "multiple alliances" on board the yatch as her character, Alicia, continues to deal with the loss of her boyfriend and searches for a friend.
Series lead Cliff Curtis explained that Strand, Daniel Salazar and Nick have all gone to "apocalypse school," being the best suited to survive the new world. Kim Dickens sees the team as one where each person is still trying to work out what their best skillsets are as they grow more accustomed to life as it has now become.
Season 2 premieres April 10 on AMC.
