'Fear the Walking Dead' Tops Sunday Ratings, Drops from Season 1 Finale
While live +3 day ratings will be released on Friday by AMC, Fear the Walking Dead has seen solid numbers for its season 2 premiere on Sunday night, following in the footsteps of The Walking Dead proper's big finale.
The show saw 6.7 million total viewers in Nielsen's live + same day averages, with a 3.1 rating in adults 18-49. Despite it not rating as high as any of the six season one episodes from last year, the premiere came within 9% of its finale in the 18-49 age range, and within 3% of total viewers.
So what that says is that The Walking Dead is big enough that its spin-off can pull less than half of the original's viewership but still land on top of Sunday's programming schedule. Fear ranks as the number two rated cable entertainment series of the 2015-16 season, only behind its parent series.
