'Fifty Shades Darker' Crosses $300 Million Worldwide
Universal Pictures has taken over $300 million at the worldwide box office with its sequel Fifty Shades Darker. Internationally, the take is over $200 million. On domestic shores, the film has taken $95.9 million compared to its $207.8 million international accumulation.
James Foley directs the erotic noir sequel, which opened number one in 51 of a possible 59 territories including Australia, France, Russia, Germany, Italy, Spain and Brazil.
The film stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson. The first film took over $560 million globally, and Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti, Marcus Viscidi, and series creator E. L. James returned to produce the follow-up, based on a screenplay by Niall Leonard.
