Filming End Date Revealed for 'Star Wars: Episode VIII'
Disney and Lucasfilm have been tight-lipped about the sequel to last year's The Force Awakens, though courtesy of Mark Hamill we now know when production will wrap.
It wraps on Friday July 22nd 2016 #LooseLipsSinkStarships #W8ForVIII #DontBeAHomer #PatienceMyPadawans #Rogue1Sooner https://t.co/92syo6m36d

This probably confirms that Star Wars will not play a role at San Diego Comic-Con, given that filming ends on the second day of the convention.
Rian Johnson takes the reins for the new film, which is set for a December 15 release in 2017.
