'Finding Dory' Details Have Emerged

ZachPerilstein ZachPerilstein Disney Reporter Yesterday, the wait was over at last. Finding Dory is happening and has its own poster and new details.

Disney-Pixar is jumping back into the big blue world as the hilarious sidekick in Pixar's 2003 film 'Finding Nemo' will be going into her own spotlight in 'Finding Dory.'

After years of wondering and complaining about the lack of sequels to 'Finding Nemo,' Ellen DeGeneres finally got her wish with 'Finding Dory.' Andrew Stanton, the original director of 'Finding Nemo' said, "I thought we had a closed circuit story with that, then I started to wonder what about the little blue fish with short term memory, will she get back home? Will she get lost?" Stanton continued saying "That's when I knew I got my story."

The plot has two sides. One side is that Nemo and Marlin miss Dory and want to know if she is okay. So Marlin and Nemo go on a adventure searching for their friend. The other side of the story is that Dory wants to get back to her family and escape an ocean sanction facility.

DeGeneres announced Dory's new ocean squad at the Expo. Modern Family's Ed O'Neil will be voicing a "sectopus" named Hank. And (another Modern Family star) Ty Burrell was announced voicing Bailey, a beluga whale. Kaitlyn Olson is voicing a whale shark named Destiny, who is confused about her very own identity. The crazy and confused bunch will eventually help Dory find her family. But first, they have to escape the ocean sanctuary facility where Dory finds herself after separating from Marlin and Nemo.

'Finding Dory' swims to the big screen June 17th, 2016.
