Following His 'Deadpool' Departure, Tim Miller Signs on to produce 'Sonic' Feature Film
Tim Miller recently left Deadpool 2 without a director, following a creative falling out with producer and star Ryan Reynolds. But now, he's moved onto a new project, one that may have far less fanfare.
THR is reporting that Miller is executive producing a Sonic the Hedgehog feature film. Longtime collaborator Jeff Fowler is making his directorial debut, while Patrick Casey and Josh Miller are penning the script.
The film is intended as a CGI/live-action hybrid based on the video game franchise. It's not quite what anybody was expecting Miller to turn his attention to, however he is working on an adaptation of Daniel Suarez's novel Influx for the same studio.
Reports indicate that the falling out, while amicable, was as a result of Miller's eagerness to go bigger, while Reynolds, along with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, wanted to maintain the same smaller scale, lower-budget tradition of the first film.
