Frederick Schmidt Joins as Metallo for Season 2 of 'Supergirl'
EW is reporting that Supergirl has added Frederick Schmidt as a new villain for the upcoming season. Metallo is described as follows for the series:
“When international assassin John Corben is badly injured after taking on both Supergirl and Superman, he is reborn by a shadow organization into the Kryptonite-powered supervillain Metallo.”
The character is traditionally a Superman villain, and so it makes sense that the character will take on Superman at some point. Melissa Benoist leads the series into its second season as the titular hero.
The series returns October 10.
