FX Orders X-Men TV spin-off 'Legion' to Series
FX has given an 8 episode series order for Legion, the upcoming X-Men spin-off created by Fargo creator Noah Hawley and starring Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens.
Hawley is joined by the X-Men team of Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, and Simon Kinberg, and details the story of a trouble young man, played by Stevens, who deals with mental illness that responds directly with his mutant abilities.
“We’ve come to expect excellence from Noah Hawley and with Legion he has delivered another major creative achievement,” said FX’s Nick Grad. “Just as he did in reimagining Fargo, he is bringing an entirely new aesthetic and sensibility to the enormously popular and richly represented X-Men world.
"The pilot episode is stunning, driven by incredible performances from Dan Stevens, Aubrey Plaza, Jean Smart, Rachel Keller and the rest of the cast.”
David Haller is a diagnosed schizophrenic and has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. After a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he faces the possibility that the voices in his head and the visions he has may be real.
There is no release date announced as yet.
