FX Sees 3.4 Million Total Viewers Tune in to the Premiere of Tom Hardy's 'Taboo'
19th century drama starring Tom Hardy, Taboo, has kicked off with 3.43 million viewers tuning in for Live+3 day viewings. The series premiered on January 10, and drew in 1.63 million adults ages 18-49.
Based on an original story by Hardy and his father, Chips Hardy, Taboo takes place in 1814, in a time where the U.S. and Britain war is winding down to a close. James Delaney (Hardy), long thought dead, returns home from Africa to inherit what remains of his father's shipping empire to rebuild a life for himself. When a dark mystery unfolds, conspiracy, murder and betrayal take precedence.
The series is produced by Ridley Scott's Scott Free London and Hardy's Hardy Son & Baker for FX and BBC One. It is executive produced by Ridley Scott, Kate Crowe, Tom Hardy, Dean Bake, and Steven Knight.
