I will fight for the North when you bend the knee...
Sunday's 50-minute episode titled "The Spoils of War" gently lulled viewers into a familial state of comfort and mild degree of uncertainty before show runners Benioff and Weiss dialed up the heat for Spoils' 10 minute battle. Words alone cannot aptly describe all 600 seconds of wondrous one-sided carnage at the hands of Dothraki horseman and fire-breathing fury of Daenerys 747-sized dragon, Drogon
But if you were curious to see just what $10 million dollars looks like up close and personal, check out this awe-inspiring 14-minute behind-the-scenes detailing what HBO is calling “The Loot Train Attack” - featuring the team that shaped a game-changing battle we haven't seen since the carnage at Hardhome. And to get an appreciation for how much work went into this ten minutes of airtime, Director Matt Shankman and co. filmed "The Spoils of War" final battle in 18 (main-unit) days, and roughly five (second-unit) days, along with several weeks for the [VFX] effects-unit.

Chaos is a ladder
Now that we are past the books, it's anyone's guess as to where Benioff and Weiss will take the battle for the seven kingdoms. Bold call? Perhaps something greater than Blackwater, Hardhome, Bastards, and Spoils combined.
Next week's episode 5 "Eastwatch" will run 59 minutes and will be once again helmed by Matt Shankman.
