George Lucas is Not Involved in 'Indiana Jones 5'
With indiana Jones set to arrive in 2019, the franchise loses one of its staples as George Lucas is confirmed to play no part in the fifth installment of the franchise.
Writer David Koepp, who penned Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as well as Jurassic Park, revealed that Lucas is not a part of the film. “He’s not (involved), to my knowledge. I’ve had no contact with him.”
It's not really a surprise, given Lucas' lack of involvement in the Star Wars franchise since selling Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012. The writer went on to indicate that production is hoping for commencement in October 2017.
“It’s certainly OK for me and I’ll be ready, but my schedule isn’t the tough one. So I think October—I hope, I hope so. We’ll see. That’s a hard one to answer.” The movie is out July 19, 2019.
