'Godzilla 2' Rumoured to Have Found its Director
Yesterday, news came in that two writers had been brought on to pen the script, in the form of Michael Dougherty and Zach Shields. New reports however have come about that suggest Dougherty will also be taking on directing duties for the monster sequel.
Screencrush reported the news, and Dougherty is no stranger to the job. He directed Krampus and Trick 'r Treat for Legendary Pictures and had a hand in scripting Superman Returns and X-Men 2.
Gareth Edwards departed the job in favour of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story having directed the initial Godzilla film in 2014.
