Green Lantern Role May Be Filled for 'Justice League: Part One'
Batman v Superman is a clear gateway to Justice League, bridging the gap between Man of Steel and Justice League: Part One. But one important character was missing from that role call of metahumans.
Tyrese Gibson has long been rumoured for the role of Green Lantern, and the actor has now revealed on the Larry King Now show that he has met with Warner Bros. regarding the role:
Tyrese: You know, there have been other artists, actors and actresses who have put up images of them as a comic book character and ended up landing a role. So I was like, it's worth giving it a shot.
Larry: So, have you heard from Zack Snyder?
Tyrese: No.
Larry: Maybe he's watching.
Tyrese: I did meet with Warner Brothers, though.
Larry: And?
Tyrese: And...um...shoot me a prayer, Larry.
Larry: You got a shot?
Tyrese: I do.
The actor has been campaigning for the role for somewhere around a year now, proving that he is devoted to attaining the role.
While the only notable black Green Lantern is John Stewart, Gibson is known for arrogant, cocky roles, and Warner Bros. may not shy away from casting him as a different character like Guy Gardner.
At this point, there's no word on whether Green Lantern will in fact appear in Justice League, though we can expect some sort of tease or easter egg ahead of the character's arrival further down the line.
