Greg Berlanti Confirms DC Comics 'Booster Gold' Film
Last year featured a rumour that Warner Bros. was developing another superhero film, albeit unlike the rest this one was much further under the radar. The rumour had a buddy cop-style film in the works starring superheroes Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.
Arrow, Flash and Supergirl executive producer Greg Berlanti was rumoured to direct. These reports fell to the wayside for a while, but Berlanti has now confirmed that he is attached to the project, and has voice his interest in directing.
“I’m attached to a few films [at Warner Bros.] now, and one, Booster Gold, is a DC property. Zack Stentz, who wrote an episode of Flash last year, just got the job, so he’s writing the script now. I’d probably direct that, or I would want to.”
No mention of Blue Beetle was made, though its a small hole in an otherwise accurate rumour. And the character could see make an appearance, given how early it is in development.
Booster Gold is a 25th century resident who travels back in time and becomes a hero, though he takes different measures to spreading the word on his new lifestyle. At first, I wondered whether the messenger in Batman v Superman was Booster Gold, and not the Flash, though ultimately it seems that's not the case.
