Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 Shooting for 2020 Release Date
After the incredible sequel. The Guardians will be returning for a third and final time. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 will take place after Infinity War and Avengers 4. The film will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's phase four.
James Gunn while on Facebook said that 2020 is the firm release target. Marvel already has the date May 1, 2020, guarded. Then he was of course asked if he would be willing to direct Star Wars Episode IX since Colin Trevorrow's departure. Gunn answered, "I would not and could not. Right now I'm doing Guardians 3, producing a new film with David Yarovesky, and developing Starsky & Hutch for Amazon.com. My plate is full for three years."
Well you can scratch James Gunn off of your Star Wars Episode IX director replacement list. I'm assuming most high profile directors that have been suggested are too busy to be doing the end of the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
I'm just excited to see James Gunn continue his story of the Guardians. I'm also interested in what his next project for Marvel may be.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 is targeting a 2020 release date (most likely May 1, 2020.)
