'Han Solo' May Get Pushed Back to December 2018 Release
Remember when Star Wars: Episode VIII was actually meant to come out in just a few short months? Yeah, me too. Now, the next saga film in the Star Wars franchise is coming in December, but following that is the Han Solo anthology picture, which is lined up for a May 25 release in 2018.
Making Star Wars, the popular fan site known for posting quite accurate news reports, has posted regarding a move from that May 25 slot to December 13, 2018. This is extremely likely, particularly given that Avengers: Infinity War arrives in May. The forces at Disney could surely see no point in pitting two major releases so near to one another. It may just do more harm than good financially (not that either film will ever suffer too badly, no matter what the competition).
There's nothing confirmed just yet, so we'll wait on an official word out of Disney, but it looks like another Star Wars film is being pushed back. December has so far proven to be a hugely successful release slot for Disney's rejuvenated franchise, so I expect December will be the mainstay release month going forward.
