Harry Potter Stage Play a Sequel to 'Deathly Hallows'
New details have emerged for J.K. Rowling's next part in her Harry Potter series, with the production confirming that the stage play is being referred to as the 8th part and a direct continuation of the story.
There was much said toward the play filling in Harry's untold story, while other sources speculated a potential prequel. As it turns out, this will follow the last we saw of Harry, Ron and Hermione, who were seeing their children off on the Hogwarts Express years after defeating Voldemort.
With the spin-off film coming from Warner Bros. 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' coming next November, it seems Harry Potter is receiving a new lease on life (not that it died in any way, shape or form).
The stage play has Harry in an overworked role at the Ministry of Magic, while also maintaining his family. Harry must deal with his past, that simply won't go away, while his son Albus struggles with the weight of his namesake, a difficulty no child starting school would want.
The opening performances of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child are set for July 30th of next year, at the West End's Palace Theatre.
