Hasbro Responds to Online Backlash Due to Rey Being Excluded from Monopoly Set
Fans yesterday took their dissatisfaction to the internet, as with everything in today's society, and Hasbro has suffered a fair bit of flack for their decision to leave Rey out of the set.
The upcoming Star Wars edition of Monopoly only features four characters: Darth Vader, Kylo Renn, Luke Skywalker, and Finn. The number of players offered is low to begin with, considering Monopoly usually allows for eight.
Part of Hasbro's initial statement reads that the Star Wars game was released "months before the movie's release, and Rey was not included to avoid revealing a key plot line that she takes on Kylo Renn and joins the Rebel Alliance".
Recently, Hasbro released another statement via Twitter stating that "we love your passion for Rey, and are happy to share that we will be including her in the Monopoly: Star Wars game, available later this year".
Fans may find this satisfying, and the #WheresRey hashtag may not be getting so much traffic after this latest announcement.
