HBO Undertaking Preliminary Discussions Regarding Watchmen TV Series
TV adaptations from film are becoming the big thing in recent times, and HBO has confirmed preliminary discussions with Zack Snyder, who helmed the 2009 film Watchmen, regarding a television adaptation.
The 2009 film is in turn an adaptation of the 1986 groundbreaking comic book of the same name by Alan Moore. Despite discussions having been had with Snyder, it would seem unlikely that he would have a heavy attachment considering his almost God role over the DC extended cinematic universe.
Initial thoughts on a television adaptation, and it seems odd that they'd adapt what had already been adapted to film into a long running serial. Though, recently DC Comics published various prequel books following the different characters (much to Alan Moore's disgust), adding to potential source material.
