Hugh Dancy Joins 'Fifty Shades Darker'
Fifty Shades Darker is set to continue the story started last year in Fifty Shades of Grey, based on the bestselling book series that everybody seems to hate. If that even makes sense.
Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan will return as the film's leading duo, and a pretty solid cast is building around them. Most recently, according to THR, Hugh Dancy has now joined on to play Christian Grey's (Dornan) psychiatrist.
The Hannibal star will play Dr. John Flynn, who Christian begins seeing when a former lover re-enters his life and compromises his relationship with Anastasia. Dancy joins Kim Basinger, another recent signing, adding some immense acting prowess to an already impressive roster.
The first film saw some hefty tension between director Sam Taylor Johnson and author of the series E.L. James, who retained plenty of creative control and wanted to maintain utter seriousness in a film that may have been better off letting loose a little.
James Foley will direct the final two films, which are being shot back to back, from a script by Niall Leonard, James' own husband.
