Hulu's 'The Handmaid's Tale' Adds 'Orange is the New Black' Actress Samira Wiley
Samira Wiley, recognised for her work in Netflix original series Orange is the New Black, has swapped streaming services to join Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale.
The new series is based on the award-winning dystopian tale of the same name written by Margaret Atwood. Elisabeth Moss of Mad Men fame will star as the titular handmaid in the ten-episode series.
The handmaid herself, Offred, is forced into subjugation in an attempt to repopulate the fictional, male-dominated society of Gilead. Wiley plays Moira, Offred's friend and fellow handmaiden.
Production is expected to commence in the fall, for a 2017 premiere.
