Jada Pinkett Smith, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jessica Henwick are in talks for 'MATRIX 4'

GregHarmon GregHarmon Managing Editor So far so good in the casting department.

This week, Jada Pinkett Smith, Jessica Henwick, and Neil Patrick Harris are the latest actors to join Keanu Reeves, Carrie Anne Moss, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in Lana Wachowski’s MATRIX 4.

Sources say Smith is in negotiations to reprise her role as Logos ship captain and resistance fighter, Niobe. Former Game of Thrones sand snake Jessica Henwick has secured a lead role that’s being kept under wraps. According to Deadline, the “buzz around town” is that Henwick may play a role equivalent to the “One” and only Neo, played by Mr. Keanu Reeves.

In the somewhat unexpected, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle’s (that’s how I roll) Neil Patrick Harris has also entered talks to join the cast in an undisclosed role. Given Harris’ talents, coupled with the film's diverse cast, I could easily picture Neil in a supporting role that channels his sardonic wit. On the flip side, it wouldn’t shock me if he were cast opposite our heroes since the film has yet to cast any villains. The dude’s got range.

Either way it’s a good bet more casting announcements will be unveiled in the coming weeks with production expected to begin early 2020.

Stay tuned!
