James Cameron's 'Avatar' Sequels Have Found Their Villain
James Cameron has been hard at work on the four Avatar sequels that are in the works. The first one Avatar 2 should be out in 2020.
Cameron revealed in a interview with Empire that Stephen Lang's Quaritch will be the villain in all of the movies. Here is more to what he had to say.
“The interesting conceit of the Avatar sequels is it’s pretty much the same characters. There are new characters and a lot of new settings and creatures, so I’m taking characters you know and putting them in unfamiliar places and moving them on this greater journey. But it’s not a whole bunch of new characters every time. There’s not a new villain every time, which is interesting. Same guy. Same mother****er through all four movies. He is so good and he just gets better. I know Stephen Lang is gonna knock this out of the park.”
As a theme park fan and as a fan of Pandora: The World of Avatar at Walt Disney World. I'm excited that Cameron said "a lot of new settings and creatures." meaning we could see a theme park expansion in the future.
James Cameron is excited to do a long overarching story. With the same villain and characters will lead to more character development. I feel like a lot of people that are dissing on Avatar right now will be lining up to watch the films from 2020-2025. Disney bet big on Avatar and people showed up. I believe James Cameron is going to shock the world once again.
