James Wan hopes to put his Stamp on the Aquaman Character
Visionary director James Wan will be bringing the widely misunderstood DC Comics hero Aquaman into the mainstream consciousness with a solo film in 2018, and while its early days the director is keen to make the character his own.
The man behind The Conjuring, Saw, and last year's Fast and Furious installment is currently wrapping up The Conjuring 2, which he is supremely confident about. "I believe in the story, I believe in the world, I believe in the characters."
Next up is the task of entering into a still-developing extended universe at Warner Bros., which is sure to be a whole new kind of challenge for him.
"It's still early process," Wan says of Aquaman. "It's very important for me that I can put my stamp on it. If I can do that, I feel it will be pretty damn awesome."
Jason Momoa stars as Aquaman, after making his first appearance in Batman v Superman and set to play a role in Justice League. The solo film is slated for July 27, 2018.
