James Wan Responds to those 'Aquaman' Villain Reports
James Wan is set to direct Aquaman, one of the most intriguing projects to come from the DCEU. But while reports dropped recently that arch rival Black Manta would be the villain in the solo film, Wan fails to give any kind of confirmation.
“I want to know where Wrap got that piece of news from,” Wan laughed. “Come on, I can’t talk about this.” While it's far too soon for him to be giving away details about the film anyway, pressing questions pushed him to cut things off then and there.
“I’m not saying anything,” Wan said. “No comment is my comment.” He describes his role in the DCEU as "like the CIA," existing on "a need-to-know basis and only if I need to know." The film opens July 27, 2018, with or without Black Manta, whose appearance is only a matter of time in this enormous new universe.
