Jason Momoa's Rival Revealed for the Upcoming 'Aquaman' Solo Film
The Wrap is reporting that Aquaman is set to fight it out with his arch nemesis in the upcoming solo movie, set to do justice to the oft-teased character, which comes out in 2018.
Jason Momoa's title hero will take on a villain called Black Manta, created in 1967 and who has pretty much since his inception made it his mission to kill Aquaman. Recent versions of the character have seen his thirst of Aquaman's death motivated by vengeance, blaming Aquaman for his father's death.
The character is a warrior, and sports no real super power. He sports a costume that allows him to swim deep into the ocean. Will Beall is penning the script, and James Wan is directing.
