Jennifer Lawrence Turned Down Role in The Hateful Eight
Jennifer Lawrence was sought after by Quentin Tarantino to play the part of Daisy Domergue, but the actress turned it down.
The two met for the part prior to filming, Tarantino being "a huge Jennifer Lawrence fan". The director spoke of how he admired the relationship between actress and director David O. Russell.
"I can see her doing a good job with this role, so we went to talk about it and everything," Tarantino said. "She was just doing me a courtesy to see me, I think. She was doing 'Joy'. She had to do all this publicity on the 'Hunger Games' movies. There was just no f—king way in the world that she was available."
He continued on to reaffirm his decision on casting. "I think I absolutely made the right choice, as far as the ages of the characters." The role of Daisy went to Jennifer Jason Leigh, the 53 year old actress.
The Hateful Eight gets a wide release on January 8.
