Jennifer Yuh Nelson To Direct "Darkest Minds"
Fox has tapped Jennifer Yuh Nelson to direct their adaptation of the young-adult novel, The Darkest Minds. Nelson, who directed Kung Fu Panda 2 and Kung Fu Panda 3, will be making her live-action feature film directing debut.
The Darkest Minds novel is the first book of a trilogy written by Alexandra Bracken.
"There is a postapocalyptic vibe to this one, as a pandemic kills most of America’s children and teens. Some of the survivors develop superpowers, and they are stripped away from their families and sent to internment camps by a fearful government. One of the teens escapes her camp and joins a group of gifted teens who go on the run."
