Jonah Hill to Make His Directorial Debut with 'Mid-90s'
Jonah Hill has made plenty of headway in his acting career, going from typecast to Oscar-nominated dramatic actor, as well as writing and producing credits to his name. Now, he wants to take the leap into directing, and the projects ready to go.
Hill is attached to Mid-90s, a coming-of-age dramedy written by himself, and which he has teamed up with producer Scott Rudin for. Rudin will be joined by Eli Bush and frequent collaborators A24.
The script follows a group of California teens trying to navigate drinking, drugs, fighting, sex, looking cool, and fitting in, which is destined to result in some bad choices with some even worse consequences. Hill co-wrote 21 Jump Street, and created animated series Allen Gregory.
He will not act in the film, instead keeping sole focus on directing duties.
