Kate Winslet in Talks to Star Alongside Idris Elba in 'The Mountain Between Us'
Kate Winslet is in negotiations for a leading role opposite Idris Elba in the upcoming romantic drama The Mountain Between Us.
Based on Charles Martin's 2010 bestselling novel, Hany Abu-Assad is directing the adaptation for Fox 2000, with Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping producing through Chernin Entertainment.
The story follows a surgeon and a woman who fall in love after a plane crash leaves them stranded. They must work their way through and out of the mountain wilderness, in a harsh landscape where the temperature falls dramatically at night, and with crippling injuries.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's Chris Weitz penned a recent draft of the script, from earlier versions from J. Mills Goodloe and Scott Frank.
