Kate Winslet joins James Cameron's 'AVATAR' universe
Can you smell what James Cameron is cooking$
Oscar-winning actress, Kate Winslet will be reuniting with James Cameron in the filmmaker's billion-dollar Avatar franchise, joining returning cast members Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang, plus a cast of talented young actors who make up the next generation of Na’vi.
Cameron confirmed that Winslet will play a lead character named "Ronal". Though details have not been confirmed, one can presume Ronal will be a member of the Avatar Program or of Na'vi species who inhabits the planet of Pandora.
“Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career,” Cameron told Deadline, “I can’t wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life.”
Winslet first wooed movie-goers alongside Leonardo DiCaprio as "Rose DeWitt Bukator" in Cameron's billion-dollar grossing Titanic. Twenty years later, here we are celebrating Titanic's two decade-long anniversary along with a look into a promising future for fans of the Avatar franchise.
The first of those four sequels is scheduled for release on Dec. 18, 2020, with the latter three arriving Dec. 17, 2021, Dec. 20, 2024, and Dec. 19, 2025.
I see dollar signs.
