'Krypton Casting Members of Superman's Family for the Prequel Series
Syfy's Krypton is currently casting for members of the House of El and the House of Zod, along with Dev-Em, who is considered one of the most notorious criminals in Kryptonian history.
With production kicking off in Montreal shortly, casting is underway for Superman's grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. A character named Val-El is being cast for, described as having "defied death by going into the Phantom Zone, and is a staunch believer in space exploration." His father is also being cast.
Alura and Lyta Zod are among those being cast, and the familial connection is obvious for those who have seen Man of Steel. In any case, there's no indication of how closely the show will stick to the developed lore of Krypton. It may well carve out its own path.
