'La La Land' is Luring More Projects to Lionsgate
After the overwhelming success of La La Land. It has brought many new projects to Lionsgate. According to a top executive at Lionsgate.
Erik Feig, president of the studios motion picture group said that La La Land outperformed in every market. La La Land has grossed over $270 million at the box office and has received countless award nominations.
Feig also mentioned that Hollywood has rediscovered the musical genre. He also noted that the studio is getting more filmmaker driven projects.“Filmmakers have brought us a lot more movies,” he added. “They see that we are willing to make a bet on an unconventional approach.”
La La Land is a musical-drama set in Hollywood about an aspiring actress and a Jazz pianist. The film showcases them falling in and out of love. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone play the key roles. La La Land is directed by Damien Chazelle. La La Land scored a record-tying 14 Oscar nominations.
