Legendary Digital Studios is Adapting Cult Hit Indie Video Game 'Life is Strange'

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell Legendary Digital Studios has acquired the rights to adapt last year's big indie hit Life is Strange, which is being developed and produced with Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons of dj2 Entertainment.

The episodic video game details the teenage life of college student Max Caulfield as she discovers that she's obtained time-altering abilities. When she and a friend set out to investigate the disappearance of a fellow student, they unravel something much darker.

“Life is Strange really differs from what people think of gaming,” Greg Siegel, Senior VP of Development and Production for Legendary, told The Hollywood reporter. “Because there’s such a focus on character, there’s an emotional connection to the story that doesn’t happen with other games.”

Legendary will search for a writer and director for the award-winning game's digital series adaptation soon. All five episodes are available now on Linux, OX X, Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
