On paper, the premise for Universal's latest American comedy BLOCKERS feels like a rebooted version of 2K's American Pie no one asked for. But it is 2017 and Hollywood has not unleashed the cliched and tiresome tale of teenagers having sex on prom night in quite some time. So naturally the team that brought you Neighbors, This is the End, and Harold and Kumar simply added another layer to the seemingly cliched tale - what happens when the parents find out?
If the trailer for Blockers achieves one thing, it proves that parents Hunter (Ike Barinholts - Neighbors), Lisa (Leslie Mann - This is 40), and Mitchell (John Cena - Trainwreck) would indeed do anything - including butt chugging - to stop their daughters from losing their virginity at prom after they discover their daughters’ secret sex pact. And we're not talking your typical sex pact full of manly high fives and fist bumps.
